Joseph was born on April 14, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph and Margareta (Blanchaert) DeYaeghere. Joseph graduated from De La Salle High School in 1964. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968. When he got back from the service, Joseph started working at Midland International; retiring in the 90’s. On April 26, 1969, he married Opal (Graham) DeYaeghere. Joseph enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Bowling, and spending time with his boys and grandsons, and he loved the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and sister, Patricia. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Opal DeYaehere; 102-year-old mother, Margareta; 2 sons, Joseph and his wife Marnie, and Robert and his wife Jackie; and 2 grandsons, Kyle and Isaac.
A memorial gathering for Joseph will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 East 47th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64133, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM. Private family inurnment with military honors at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial gifts to the American Heart Association.
