John Joseph Tejada, Sr., age 67 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 17th, 2022. He grew up on the West Side of Kansas City where he met the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Christina Tejada. The friendships he made lasted a lifetime. If you were to drive up his street you would likely see him hanging out with his friends and family blasting good Motown jams or cheering on our good ole’ Kansas City Chiefs. Family time was most precious to John, being surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren meant the world to him. John left earth surrounded by his family; wife, Christina; his children, Rochelle Tejada (Juan Aguilar), Ericka Tejada and Jay Tejada; his beloved grandchildren, Brian Blackwell & his wife, Ana Blackwell, Sabrina Aguilar and her husband, Martin Aguilar, Antonia Hernandez (Ramon Mitchell), Alexis Rodriguez (Kyle Vasquez) David Aguilar (Alexis Williams) and Elijah Rodriguez, Madeline Ramirez-Tejada and her sister, Vivian Ramirez-Tejada; great-grandchildren, Nicole Blackwell, Dominic Hernandez, Natalie Blackwell, Dahlia Mendez and Keanu Blackwell; John’s sisters, Rosemary Hernandez, Tina Guerrero and Julia Alaniz; along with several nieces and nephews. He will be joining his Heavenly Father and alongside will be John’s parents, Benito & Petra Tejada, Sr.; his sister, Evelyn Reyes; brothers, Michael Rojas and Benito Tejada Jr., welcoming him with loving arms.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Avenida Cesar E Chavez. The family welcomes you to come visit at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. The entire family would like to express our thanks for the incredible compassion shown to our dad while in the care of North Kansas City Hospital and North Care Hospice House. John was known for having a huge heart but even bigger fists. He was the protector of the Family and always brought everyone together. 1 Corinthians 16: 14 “Do everything in love.”
