John R. Simpson

A Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 6 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am, Friday, September 7 at the funeral home. Private entombment in the Faith Mausoleum at Mount Moriah Cemetery will follow.

John was born on June 9, 1944 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England to George R.R. Simpson & Irene (Hines) Simpson. He graduated from East High School, Kansas City, Missouri in 1962. He graduated from University of Kansas in 1969 with a degree in Architecture & Urban Design. John worked for Butler Mfg., Tri-City Construction, Burns & McDonnell and finally back with Butler Mfg.

John is survived by his wife of 52 years Thelma (Moffett) Simpson, brother Terry Simpson, sister Julie Dunn, sons Chris (Becky) Simpson and John (Joanne) Simpson, Jr., grandchildren Alex, Harry, Evan and Becket.
