John Lee (Boppa) Lutgen, 71, Kansas City passed away on September 19, 2016. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 6:00-9:00PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO.
John Lutgen was born June 17, 1945 and had lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. John served his country for 4 years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He hired out with the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1967 and during the 37 years of service worked various positions from switchman, yard master, locomotive instructor and then retiring from the Union Pacific as a Manager of Yard Operations.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lu of 46 years, his children John Lutgen and wife Stacey of Wentzville, MO., Amy Lutgen, Joe Lutgen and wife Tina; his grandchildren Tyler, Alexandra, Veronica, JoLeigh, Grace, Jacob, Carter & Jackson. Two sisters Evelyn Hale and husband Bill of Richardson, TX. & Fran Logsdon of Prairie Village, KS. & numerous nieces & nephews. (Arr: McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd. KCMO)
