Last night I lost a piece of my heart but over the years of having him as my Father, Grandpa and the best man I've ever had the privilege of meeting, his teachings life lessons and guidance will be carried on by many.  Everyone close to me and my kids know how much he ment to me. John Joseph Koch, you have and always will be one to look up to but its your turn to look down upon all of us. You've done your part, its time we do ours. Love you and miss you more than anything ever right now. Rest in Peace Grandpa you will be missed by so many people. Thanks for all the memories but most of all thanks for teaching me how to be a father to my children that so dearly love you. I guess I'm kind of selfish in my own way but I wasn't ready for this and quite frankly I don't think I ever could've been ready. You're with the love of your life now and the both of you can be happy again. Thanks again for everything you have done for me and my kids. Love you always and forever.

Keeping the entire family in our prayers at this time of sorrow.  Will be traveling back into icy KC this morning and thinking of you all since we wont be there.  This man left such memories and impacts in each and every person he ever met, whether he knew you or not he always made you feel comfortable and wanted & important.  Whether you realized it or not he instilled many things in people that they didn't realise he did until after the fact. I am so very glad our paths have crossed.  He has left his footprints in each and every one of his aquaintences, friends and family.  This man has teached alot of people alot of things about life in general so now has joined his angel in heaven.  He was so respectful of others ~  You will be missed Mr Koch by many !!

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Koch.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting John while I worked at the Front Desk of the Gladstone Community Center a few years back (2008-2012).  He was a "regular" and always stopped and chatted with me and greeted everyone with a warm smile!  I enjoyed his stories and jokes, and he often boasted about his granddaughter. He will be missed.  My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

Harold, Betty, Marianne,  and Jim, i am saddened tp know of John's passing. i always had great respect for this good and kind man.  Please know you and your families are in my prayers.

My mother's brother, my uncle, John J Koch was an unbelievable person. His genuine love for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews was unmatchable. He always had a story to tell and wonderful advice. He will be missed by many but is in a far better place than those who remain here on earth. Love to all his family and friends.

Thinking of all of you at this difficult time.  Give each other a hug from me.   Your Dad was terrific! I am so glad our paths crossed. Wish I could be there.

John was my Grandpa. He always called me on my birthday, and he always sent me flowers on Valentine's Day. He called just to check on me. We went to lunch with Lilly and Aunt Cathie at Waldo Pizza, and he truley enjoyed our company. He was always interested in what my latest venture was, whether it was getting chickens, or opening a bakery, and he always had a story from his time on the farm to accompany the situation.  I appreciated that the most. I hope that when I leave this world, people will remember me as fondly as we will remember him.
