John M. Kissane

John M Kissane, 72, of Leawood, KS passed away January 31, 2011, at St Joseph Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th St., Leawood, KS. Interment to follow. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, followed by visitation till 8:00 p.m. at McGilley Chapel State Line.

John was born July 21, 1938 in New York City. He joined the Marine Corps and served four years stationed in Hawaii. In 1964 John married Joan Scollan. They had three daughters. In 1978 the family moved to Leawood KS. John had a long and distinguished career spanning four decades. He retired in 2001 as the Vice President of Global Content Development for Bridge Information Systems. John was a world traveler with a passion for photography.

John was preceded in death by his father Matthew, mother Jane, and three older brothers, James, Michael and Matthew, and daughter Susan. John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joan; daughters Carolyn Yatsook and husband Eric, Nancy Lett and husband Adam; four beautiful grandchildren, Danielle and Erica Yatsook, Nicole and Brendan Lett, who brought joy into his life. John is loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.
