John Hill Crump

John Hill Crump, 89, passed away March 28, 2017. John was born December 24, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA., to John Wesley and Elizabeth Smith Crump. His family moved to the Raytown area in 1937 where he went to Raytown High school. John excelled in golf, football, and track. He continued his love for sports in college. He graduated from CMSU. His father opened Crump’s in 1949 and is still operating today. John married Carolyn in June of 1957. He was always best known for his friendly personality and his outstanding amateur golf game. Wherever he went, someone always knew him and conversation ensued. His most prized attributes were his family, golf game and his business. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Virginia. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, children; Sean, John II, Mark, Carolyn “Lyn” Miller (Todd); grandchildren; Elizabeth, Wesley, Emily and John III. Visitation will be from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm, Saturday April 1, 2017 at Floral Hills. Burial following service. Condolences may be left at www.floralhillsfuneralhome.com.
