John was born on September 5, 1940 to Francis and Loretta Becker in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from De La Salle Military Academy High School in 1957 and Rockhurst University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1961. After graduating, he served honorably in the Army until 1965 as part of an Intelligence division in the Philippines and Washington D.C. John learned how to manage a business starting at age 12 by working with his father at I. Donnelly, where he eventually became a partner. Starting in 1978 until retirement, John owned and managed Comfort Sales, an HVAC distribution company, with a team who became lifelong friends. Above all, John was a selfless, humble, and devoted husband and father.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Loretta, and his sister, Loretta Frances. He is survived by his brother, Michael.
John will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Becker, and his children, Mary Ann (Jordan), Patrick (Lindsay), David (Julie), and his granddaughters, Addison and Avery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
