Jody Kay Kendrick passed away Tuesday, August 18th, 2020. Jody was born September 4th, 1970 to parents Marilyn Kay Blauvelt and Eddie Joe Powers in Leavenworth, Kansas. Jody attended high school in Tonganoxie where she participated in Track and Field, Drill team, school plays, and was a state finalist for the Miss American Co-Ed Pageant.
Jody would go on to attend Kansas City Kansas Community College, where she ran track and would return years later to complete her associate's degree. Jody would marry Scott Kendrick in 1993 and have three children during their 25 years of marriage.
Her world revolved around her family. Jody’s laugh defined her. Her big hair and big smile would fill up a room. She always made you feel special on every birthday and every holiday. She loved working at Kelley’s Bar and Grill where over the years she would make countless friendships with coworkers and customers alike. She loved to dance and sing.
Jody is survived by her children, Hailey Kendrick, Gracie Kendrick, and David Kendrick; and her mother, Marilyn Blauvelt.
A visitation for Jody will be held at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral home Monday, August 24th from 9:30am – 11:30am with graveside service to follow.
