JoAnn Arrighi died at home at 1:29 pm, Wednesday, April 13, 2021. JoAnn was born in Kansas City, Missouri where she happily lived all her life. After graduating from Northeast High School, she was employed with General Motors, eventually becoming an executive secretary. She enjoyed many travels with her family throughout the States, Europe, Cuba and Mexico. She loved opera, Starlight, the Heartland theatre, the symphony and ballet. She also attended many educational and cultural programs. Along with her sister Patricia, she was a member of the Kansas City Ski Club and both enjoyed playing golf. JoAnn was a member of St. Bernadette's Church from its founding by Reverend John R. Quinn over 50 years ago, and participated as a member of the St. Gerard Women's Guild. She was fondly included in the group known as “The Chicken Coop”.
She faithfully attended Saturday Mass and in later years was accompanied by a care giver. JoAnn was a kind hearted and independent woman who was always concerned about others. She had many interesting life, career and travel stories to share. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Arrighi and Elizabeth Rose (Basso) Arrighi and her sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Patricia Rose Arrighi. She is survived by several cousins whom she dearly loved.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 21 at 10 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, located at 9020 East 51st Terrace, Kansas City, MO. Entombment will take place at the mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
