Joan Louise Mulvihill, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully September 7, 2013, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Joan was born to the late Joseph and Clella (Betty) Egender in Kansas City, Mo., on Jan. 7, 1928. She was the oldest of three children. Joan enjoyed her life and career as a real estate agent, especially when she became a member of the Million Dollar Club. She loved to travel and to make people laugh through her vivacious personality. In retirement she never had a spare moment because of her amazing friends, whom she loved dearly. She took so much pleasure in her church and was very active within the Catholic community. More than anything, Joan loved her family. Her stories always put a smile on your face, and she spoke about her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren with great affection. Joan is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Mulvihill. Joan is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (Mark) Eswein and Kathleen (Mark) Rossback; grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Emily, Michael, Kerri and Matthew; great grandchildren, Lauryn, William, Jacob, Jillian, Daltrey, Maya and Maliah. Joan is also leaving behind her two siblings, Jane Bruening and Jim Egender. Joan's larger than life personality will be missed by everyone who was blessed enough to know her. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, followed by Mass at 2 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland, Kansas City.
