Jerry Owens, 81, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on May 22, 2022, after having lost his battle with complications from a stroke. Jerry was born in September,1940 to Benjamin and Mabel Owens in Kansas City, MO.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought life to those he touched.
He was a standout football player during his school years, playing in the position as a half back in semi pro football and was a golden glove boxer as well.
For most of his working career ‘’Dad’’ was an Agricultural Mechanic, while honing in his skill as a woodworker creating everything from cabinets, furniture and Clydesdale rocking horses for the grandchildren.
When Jerry retired at the age of 59, he kept busy helping anyone who needed help, and at the age of 68 he went back to school to learn HVAC, which many benefited from this new education he acquired.
If there was one thing Jerry was, that was determined... No matter what the challenge or request, he gave his all to ensure he exceeded all expectations whether for himself or others, without asking anything in return.
