Jerry B. Courtney, 71, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away February 23, 2011 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1939 in Holden, Missouri. He graduated in 1957 from Warrensburg High School and in 1962 from CMSU with a BA in Business. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jerry owned and operated motorcycle dealerships in the Kansas City metro area for 35 years. He was a loving husband and father and a great friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Alfred and Alpha Lee (Simmons) Courtney. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Margaret “Maggie” Courtney; son Brian Nelson Courtney; brother Richard Courtney of Springfield, Missouri; and many loving family members and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Private interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
