Mary Jean Day, 64, of Grandview, MO, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 with a Rosary prayed at 7 p.m. at the McGilley Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 3rd at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, KCMO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
Jean was born October 9, 1949 in Kansas City, MO. She married Michael Day on November 29, 1969, Jean retired from AT&T and later contracted as a computer programmer. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace L. Cooper. Survivors include her husband, Mike Day of the home; two children: Stephen (Jennifer) Day and their children, Hannah and Norah of Elgin, IL; Heather (Scott) Alton and their children, Jordan and Brenden; Jean’s mother, Maryhelen Cooper of KCMO; two brothers: Gerald Cooper of Camarillo, CA and Patrick Cooper of Prairie Village, KS.
