Janet Boren

She was born to Henry R. and Ora LaVerne Salmans on August 14, 1953, in Salina, Kansas. She completed her undergraduate degree from Kansas Wesleyan University and received her Master’s in Education from Fort Hays State University. She married Terry Boren in June 1976. She taught for 32 years, and 25 of those years were at Overland Trail Middle School in Overland Park.

Janet is survived by her husband Terry Boren, daughters Sarah Schmidt (granddaughters Mallory, Bailey, Brynley, and Whitley) and Elizabeth (Damon) Kraft (Reagan and Beckett), and her three brothers, Henry (Reneen) Salmans II, John (preceded in death by his wife Carol) Salmans, and Gary (Carolyn) Salmans.

Janet’s favorite activity was spending time with her family and attending all of her grandchildren’s activities.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to either Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina or Lincoln Lutheran Middle or High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.
