Jim, lovingly known as “Unk”, was born March 20, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri to James O. (Chief) and Edna Mae (Guy) Price. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Southeast High School where he met his first wife, Nancy (Loveland) Lanham. They married in 1968 and had two children, Scott and Jenny.
Jim worked at Shamrock Cabinets for over 30 years. He was a true craftsman and built many beautiful things during his career. He never met a stranger and took a lot of pride in his work.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, taking beautiful photographs of wildlife, attending gun shows and was quite the bowler back in the day. In fact, the King Louie-Red Bridge bowling alley is where he met his lovely second wife, Janet (Price) Jones. He and Janet were married in 1986 and spent many years together.
Jim is survived by Janet, his former wife, who served as a kind and loving caregiver even after their marriage. He is also survived by his children, James Scott Price and Coralie of Peculiar, Missouri, Jenny Price Golden and Mike of Kansas City, Kansas and stepson, Darrin Wilkinson of Grandview. He leaves his grandchildren, Emma and Olivia Golden, James Kysor and Larry Price and Jaret Wilkinson as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family of grandchildren and others. Jim is survived by his loving sister, Dianne Wright whose husband, John, recently passed away. Together, John and Dianne took great care of Jim’s needs with many trips to the store and doctors appointments when he needed them most.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law and nephew, Bradley Wright.
A visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home at 7000 Blue Ridge Road in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 5:00- 8:00 pm. We will greet family and friends at that time.
