Hello Pat
I am sad to discover that Jimmy passed away. He was a great guy, whom I always admired. 
It is by the most tangential of circumstances that I was led to this Obit about Jimmy. 
A book I am reading mentioned Olathe KS- and I remembered Jimmy was living there. 
I am his first cousin, daughter of William Lee (Bill) and Billie Dull).  My dad worked in Kansas City Mo (for Sheffield Steel). I was born there and we lived on N Van Brunt. In about 1941 my dad was transferred to Houston Tx to oversee the building of a new Sheffield plant.  Houston was always home to our family. 
While Jimmy was flying out of Bergstrom AFB in Austin Tx, he and buddies were frequent week end visitors to our home. I was a Freshman at the U of Texas at that time.  
Both my sister, Marilyn Joanne, and brother, Johnny have passed away.  I am 86 and still enjoying an active and productive life near Galveston Island: 898 Bonita Bayou Vista Tx
Lloyd and I live on a water canal and enjoy the coastal lifestyle. 512-567-8975

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I just heard this evening. My parents cared very deeply for you both, and valued your friendship.  You always treated me like family as well, which will never be forgotten.

Jim & Pat were very close friends with Jim & Norma Haney, who were my daughter's in-laws.  They all were members of my Square Dance Clubs.  Always had fun with that group.  Didn't realize that Jim attended Northeast High School until later years when I saw Pat & Jim at a Reunion event.

I was 14 when Jim married my sister, Suzanna, and I was present and stood up for their marriage in Louisiana in 1954.  Jim was a big part of our family for many years. They were married for 21 years.  They raised three fine young men. Tony, Todd and Chad. We send our condolences. Marylou, Michael, Chris, Ashley and our grandchildren.

I first worked with Jim in the Sand Springs plant. I started right after graduation from OK State. It was my first job and Jim was my first manager. He was a skilled Industrial Engjneer practitioner. He demonstrated the value of being disciplined and meticulous in using statistical analysis for operations analysis, decision making and project management. I had the privilege of working with Jim in Sand Springs and later in Kansas City. In all, I enjoyed his mentoring and friendship for 20 out of my 24 years. I witnessed a great spirit with others - values that were helpful to me throughout my working years. The Best to Pat and the Dull family - great memories will prevail. Warm Regards. Hal

I had the privilege of meeting and knowing Jim and Pat in the last few years. I enjoyed having coffee and conversation with them a couple times a month. I shared many fun stories and laughter with them and their friends. I will truly miss Jim. May Jesus wrap His loving arms around him and hold him close to His heart.

Jim was a great step dad to me and a loving husband to my mom Pat Dull.  They enjoyed many activities through the years like participating in the corvette club, and were square dance enthusiasts. He loved tinkering with his model trains and his love of cars made him the go to guy for advice when car shopping. My mom adored him and we will all miss him very much. Fly with the angels Jim. Love you

The news of Jim's passing came as a shock.  The evening before, he sent me a short Email reply to an earlier message and on the morning of his last day I replied, saying how glad I was to know he was still fighting the virus.  Alas, he may not have seen my reply.
I first met Jim when he was temporarily assigned to the Armco Sand Springs plant, where I was a summer engineering employee.  That would have been in 1968 or 69.  Later, I accepted a transfer to the Armco Kansas CIty plant and we again made contact.  During the steel industry's difficult late 1980's, Jim and I worked closely together and I really got to know what a fine gentleman he was, always modest about his Air Force years as well as his long steel industry career.  We have stayed in touch since then, even after I returned to the Sand Springs plant, some time after it was sold by Armco.  Jim was a good friend, a professional of the highest caliber, and learning of his homegoing was a terrific shock.  My sincere sympathies to Pat and all the family.

I’m so sorry to learn of Jim’s passing. I worked with Jim at First Student in Olathe. He was such a nice guy and gentleman. He always had great stories. He will be missed. My condolences and prayers for the family.
