Irene (Palmer) Pippen went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2012, surrounded by her family at St. Joseph Medical Center. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Irene retired from Sears after 30-plus years as a customer service representative. She was a member of the Colonial Presbyterian Church, and had many social interests. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Mamie (Ayres) Palmer; husband of 43 years, Art Pippen; and two sons, Kirby K. Pippen and James A. Pippen. She is survived by a daughter-in-law Sue Pippen; five grandchildren Lori J. Blau and husband Bob, Brien K. Pippen and wife Joy, Jenni S. Smith and husband Nathan, Joni L. Ray and husband David, Bonnie C. Marshall and husband Rocky; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other family and many friends.
