She was 74 years old and was the oldest child born to the late Floyd Haas and Violet (Haas) Dearing on August 5, 1948.
She graduated from Paseo High School in 1966 and resided in Lee’s Summit since 1977. She worked much of her life in the real estate field; from being a real estate agent very early on, to working as a processor at Affinity Lending with her daughter. After retiring a few years ago and up until this past fall, she worked part-time at Hyvee grocery store in Lee’s Summit.
She was a wonderful mother of her two daughters, Andrea & Tammy. She also loved being a grandmother and loved to spoil them as much as she could. She was the kind of mother/grandmother you could always count on for anything you needed.
Glenda was very empathetic, especially if it came to animals. From breeding Siberian Huskies early in life, to having Great Pyrenees as her companions, she had such a love for animals and always had one by her side. It only took a few months after losing one, before she adopted another one, because she "couldn't stand to be without one". She would refuse to watch a movie if a dog passed away, & would always say, on a regular basis, how she wished Rainbow Bridge had visiting hours.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Haas & mother, Violet (Haas) Dearing. She is survived by her sister Peggy Phillips, her two daughters Andrea (Andrew) Benoit & Tammy Smith and two granddaughters Sydney Dyke & Taylor Benoit.
A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills East Cemetery on May 20th at 1:00pm and a memorial, in her honor, will be at The Princeton Senior Living - Community Room in Lee's Summit from 2:30pm - 4:30pm.
