George William Shore, 78, of Leawood, KS and Lawton, MI passed on November 14th. In celebration of and in thanksgiving for the life of George, the family will be receiving friends Saturday, November 18th from 3-5pm at McGilley Memorial Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO.
George was born in Kansas City, MO. George graduated from Southwest High School and the University of Arizona where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Following in the footsteps of his father, he continued his successful family business career with Shore Tire Company, Inc. for 45 years. Throughout his life he was involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations including the Young Presidents’ Organization. He held several board of director positions including Overland Park Fire District No. 2, Rockhurst High School Father’s Club, Kansas City Chief’s Club, American Royal and Saddle and Sirloin Club, among others.
George was a loving husband and father who was truly passionate about his families’ interests and activities. His legacy continues through the lives of his loving wife Robin of 54 years, son Scott, daughter-in-law Christina, grandchildren Caitlyn, Holland and Thomas; son Christopher, daughter- in-law Sonya, granddaughter Lauren; daughter Heather Moore, grandson James Patrick; and his brother John Shore and family.
