George was born October 12, 1928 in Shawnee, KS to George and Florence Earnshaw. He spent his early childhood in Independence, MO before moving to Lecompton, KS. He joined the Navy in 1945 during WWII. He earned the rank of boilerman petty officer first class during his four years of service and was awarded the Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. George worked 32 years at Johnson Food Equipment, working his way up from drafting to Vice President of Sales. He married the love of his life Gladys Earnshaw on February 11, 1950. They enjoyed nearly 62 years of marriage before her passing in 2011. George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his son Doug Earnshaw (Cheryl Landon-Sperry), grandson Toby Richardson (Kristina), grandson Dustin Earnshaw (Teresa), great-grandson Lane Earnshaw (Tristin Davis), great-great-grandson Stetson Earnshaw, and grandson Cody Earnshaw; his daughter Melissa Ellis (Jeff), grandson Mason Jones, grandson Kelsey Ellis (Sam Knickerbocker), grandson Jeremiah Ellis (Monica), great-grandsons Seth Velasquez and Jayden Velasquez, and grandson Carter Ellis; his son Chris Earnshaw (Leslie), grandson Travis Earnshaw (Micah), great-grandson Jude Earnshaw, and granddaughter Peyton Hughes; his sister Patty Sturdivant, brother Robert Andes (Linda), sister Donna Andes, and sister Linda Walburn (Tom), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father George Earnshaw (Stella), mother Florence Andes (John), wife Gladys Earnshaw, granddaughter Aubrey Clark, great-granddaughter Lorelei Earnshaw, and sister Elizabeth (Betty) Converse.
A rosary service for George will be held Tuesday, October 10th from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133), followed by a visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 11th, beginning at 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, followed by a graveside committal at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited back to the funeral home afterwards for a reception.
