Gary was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 1, 1950 to William Earl and Amber Jean (Reed) Morse. He grew up in Overland Park graduating from Shawnee Mission South in 1968.
Gary was the owner of Overland Auto Trim since 1973. He loved playing fast-pitch softball, the Chiefs, fast cars, pinball, foosball, vacationing, hunting and fishing, and had a huge vinyl collection of all kinds of music. Gary was known for his beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile, dry sense of humor, welcoming heart, encouraging words and Christian values. He had a heart as big as gold for the human race. But there was nothing that he loved more than his girls. He met his wife LaRissa Marshall 35 years ago and they were married on September 29, 1990.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Amber Morse, his brother Terry Lyle “Scooter” Morse, and sister-in-law Connie Morse.
He is survived by his wife LaRissa of the home; two daughters, Kayla Nicole Owens and husband Blake of Peculiar, MO and Chloe Aarica Morse of the home; two brothers, Larry Morse and wife Angie of Raymore, MO and Scot Morse of Gardner, KS; Great uncle Russell Morse of KC, MO; Parents-in-law Malcolm and Janice Marshall of Russell, KS; Brother-in-laws Aaron Marshall and wife Paula of Elkhorn, NE and Eric Marshall and wife Linda of Kearney, MO; Nieces and nephews Alyssa (Dan) Schmidt, Tyler Morse, Rusty Morse, Grant Morse, Miranda Marshall, Matthew Marshall, Lexi Morse, Marleigh Marshall, Caroline Marshall; several cousins and a host of friends. He will be sorely missed.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00pm. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery to follow.
