Gary L Cox, 77, died July 18, 2021. He leaves his wife Vicki, and children Laura (Bryan) Terry, Nathan (Jackie) Cox, Tracy Atkinson, and Kelly Baze. He loved his eight grandchildren, Jared Atkinson, Jordan Baze, Cody Baze, Rochelle Brown, Rikelle Brown, Harrison Terry, Jessica Terry, Seth Terry, and five great grandchildren Jayda, Michael, Jaman, Nash, and Amora.
Gary served in the US Army both stateside and in Japan, and worked 34 years at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant under contractors Dupont/Remington and Olin Corporation. He was an inactive Deacon at the Gathering Baptist Church on Noland Road. He enjoyed golf and had two Hole In One trophies, one from Blue Springs Country Club and the other from La Floresta RV Park/Golf Course in South Texas where he spent many winters after retiring.
Midway in his disease, he decided he wanted no funeral services and the family will honor his wishes. A private interment of his ashes will be beneath the bell tower in Floral Hills cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, we request that you do a random act of kindness for someone or donate your time and talents to a cause of your choice. Alzheimer’s disease may have robbed Gary of his joyful memories, but we find comfort in ours now.
We claim the message of 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13 Love Never Dies
