Gary Wayne Cornelius, 59, passed away at the Northcare Hospice House on June 19, 2015. Funeral Mass 10am Wed., June 24th at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 Lee’s Summit Rd., Indep., MO with inurnment following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Gary was born June 13, 1956 to Gordon & Elizabeth Cornelius. He was a Machinist for Honeywell for over 35 years. Gary supported his children’s sporting activities and was very involved coaching youth soccer & T-ball teams. He was also active with the Boy Scouts at St. Mary’s & St. Mark’s Parishes as well as a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Gary was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. He always loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting & camping.
Gary is survived by his parents; wife of 36 years, Paula; their children, Christopher, Kathleen & Amanda; his brothers, Steven & David and his sisters, Karen Strope, Debra Howard, Lisa Howard, Cathy Derren & Brenda Taylor.
