She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Grossman; and her son, Denny M. Keaton.
She leaves behind her stepdaughters, Pat Scott and Charleen Grossman; and her grandchildren: Angela Moffett, Denny D. Keaton, Evelyn Garcia, Patricia Nicole Keaton, Robin Rankin, and Rick Scott. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Grossman was born October 23, 1922, in Ponca, Arkansas, to James and Lena Villines. She had four sisters and one brother. She moved to the Kansas City area in 1945 with her sisters Mae Villines and Christine Brasel. She married her late husband Ernest in 1968, and they were both members of Sheffield Family Life Center Church in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. She retired from Percy Kent Bag Company.
Evelyn loved cooking, gardening, and travel. Her faith inspired her to travel overseas on multiple occasions. She was known for being considerate, humble, and charitable. She was always devoted to her family and made their well-being her priority. She had many friends, who she spent much of her time visiting with.
Services in her honor will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home in Kansas City, with a visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
