Elizabeth Bassett Waddill, 92, of Cleveland, Missouri, passed away June 18, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Entombment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cleveland Christian Church, 303 W. Main, Cleveland, Missouri, 64734. Mrs. Waddill was born November 23, 1918 in Moberly, Missouri. She taught school in Missouri for over 40 years. She was involved in several service clubs and organizations, including Red Cross, PEO and the Athenaeum. She served on the Water District #2 board and the Cass County Zoning Board. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and its predecessor. Mrs. Waddill was active in the Cleveland Christian Church for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents James E. and Ruth I. (Irons) Bassett; her husband Harold E. Waddill; her brother James E. Bassett, Jr.; and grandson Robert K. Wheeler. She is survived by her two daughters, Jeannette and husband Malcolm Cutway, and Susanne and husband Dale Doty; six grandchildren Kathy Barrett, Michelle Garcia, Danielle, Amanda and Malcolm Cutway, and Randy Wheeler; and seven great-grandchildren.
