Elizabeth was born September 9, 1932 in California, Pennsylvania to John and Anna (Bogden) Reparsky. She married Stephen Michael Babish November 5, 1955, and they later adopted two children, Stephen and Elizabeth. They moved around quite a bit, until finally settling in Kansas City for the past 43 years.
Elizabeth began her career as a switchboard operator with AT&T in New York City. Her career with telecommunications continued when moving to Kansas City, eventually retiring from Sprint in 1995. Her faith and her family were very important to her. Elizabeth was always very involved in her church community. She sang in the choir and loved to help raise money for the church by making pierogies to sell as a church fundraiser.
Above all, Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with family; especially time spent with her three grandchildren. While they were growing up, she didn’t miss a sporting event or concert that they were involved in; they were her pride and joy! Most recent, she was overjoyed to watch her middle grandson, Hunter, marry his soulmate in May of this year. She was affectionately known as “Little Babi” (Babi is Czechoslovakian for Grandmother) by her grandchildren, “Aunt Betts” by her nieces/nephews and “Liz” by those that were closest to her. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Michael Babish, Sr., son Stephen Michael Babish, Jr., her father and mother John and Anna Reparsky, brothers Alexander Reparsky and Sandy Reparsky. Survivors include Elizabeth (Martin) Ginther, Blakely Ginther, Hunter (Madison) Ginther, Landan Ginther, Margaret Molnar, John (Diane) Reparsky, Joyce Reparsky, Andrew Babish and numerous cousins, nieces/nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 2:00pm, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00pm. Family/Friends can call Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home 816.942.2004.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Oxford Grand @ Shoal Creek or Holy Trinity Orthodox Church. The family would like to thank The Oxford Grand @ Shoal Creek for taking such exceptional care of Elizabeth during her 3.5 year tenure there. You not only cared for her, you showed her compassion, love and friendship. We are eternally grateful!
