Edna Ruth Hudson

Ms. Edna Ruth Hudson was born on August 27, 1942 in Dunn, North Carolina. She married her husband James Wilbur Hudson on June 4, 1960. Wilbur and Edna moved to the Kansas City area in 1969 where they raised their sons James Michael Hudson and Calvin Dale Hudson. Edna retired from the Missouri Highway Department where she worked as a Right of Way Negotiator and was a long time resident of Independence, Missouri.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband James Wilbur Hudson, mother Lessie Jackson, father Lonnie Jackson, brothers: Fred Jackson, Julius Jackson, Carson Hudson, Earl Jackson, sister Lois Johnston, sons Michael James Hudson and Calvin Dale Hudson and granddaughter Angela Nicole Hudson.

Survivors include brother William S. Jackson, daughter-in-law Lori Hudson, grandson Andrew Byrd, sister-in-law Jan Jackson, and many nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

A Visitation for Edna will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Mt Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A Funeral Service will occur at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
