Mike graduated Southeast High School in 1959 and married his wife Ruth in 1962. He worked for Capitol Federal Savings for 38 years and became the eastern Region Loan Operations Manager in 1991, a position he held until his retirement in 2005. During that time, he was active in many local community service organizations that sponsored lending and home buying assistance.
Mike enjoyed living in his home in Louisburg and spending time raising his two sons. He was devoted to family and liked to get together to have bar-b-ques, watch movies or just to be with his grandchildren.
He had a lifelong passion for playing baseball and when he could no longer play, his desire was to coach. Mike would coach baseball almost every year and every opportunity he had. Later in life he was even able to help his son David coach softball. In addition, Mike enjoyed restoring automobiles, golf carts and liked to kick back and enjoy a classic movie from his extensive collection.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Geraldine (Clarkson) Boles, his brother Tom Boles and his son David Boles. He is survived by his wife Ruth Boles, son Michael Boles (Julie), daughter-in-law Liesa Boles, grandchildren Ashley Boles and Allison Boles, sister-in-law Sharon Boles and her daughters Valerie, Melanie and Hilary.
