Dwight Eric Stringer, 53, Kansas City, KS, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home. His death was unexpected. He was born on October 24, 1958, in Parsons, KS, the son of Darrell E. and Beva C. Waller Stringer. Dwight attended Labette County Community High School in Altamont, KS. He married Glenda Sue Dixon in Oswego, KS on January 22, 1977. They later divorced. He was employed at Shawnee Mission Ford for over 30 years. Dwight had a passion for all forms of music and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Dwight is survived by his mother, Beva C. Stringer of Lawrence, KS. Other survivors include one daughter, Jamie Elaine Lehmkuhl and husband Charles of Peculiar; his long-time friend, Diana Lawrence of Paola, one brother, Jeffrey L. Stringer and wife Yolanda of Kansas City; two sisters, Lynn M. Searles and husband Martin, of Meriden, and Janis E. Stewart and husband Steven, of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Riley Lehmkuhl; three nephews, three nieces, and nine great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell E. Stringer, on February 1, 2007, and a great-niece, Amara Grace Stringer, on January 11, 2004.
The visitation will begin at noon and the service will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 14th at McGilley State Line Chapel in south Kansas City, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Heart of America Humane Society.
