Duane Wear grew up in Raytown, Missouri, and he graduated from Raytown South Senior High School. Following high school, he served a tour in the U.S. Navy where he traveled the world. Once his military service was completed, he and his family moved back to the Kansas City area to be closer to family.
Once back in Kansas City, bowling became a great passion for Duane. He took great pride in teaching his daughter to bowl, and they spent countless hours honing skills together. Not only was he a competitive bowler, but Duane developed a reputation as one of the best pinsetter mechanics in the region. He worked in many of the local bowling centers and even helped open one in Oak Grove, Missouri.
Duane peacefully passed away on July 29, 2023 following a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughter, Tricia, and two sisters, Connie Liley and Natalee Trible. He is preceded in death by his brother, Warren Wear, and his parents, Bill and Lorraine Wear.
There will be no services per Duane’s final wishes.
