Doris Elizabeth Miller, 91, peacefully went to be with her Lord on May 27, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Fredonia, Kansas and lived in the Kansas City area since 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Lorene Randolph Vidricksen. Doris is survived by her daughter, Diane Miller, son Reg Miller (Tracey), two grandchildren Jeffrey Miller (Maren), and Stacey Miller, and two great-grandchildren.
Doris graduated from Paseo High School, Kansas City, MO, and attended Bethany-Peniel College, now Southern Nazarene University (SNU), in Bethany, OK, where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. She loved teaching kindergarten and first grade for many years. After her move to Kansas City, she worked at Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene as a pastoral secretary and greeter among other duties.
Doris was described as a woman unlike any other – a loving mother with a wonderful smile, a true Christian saint, with extraordinary strong faith, faithful to God throughout her entire life.
The family and Doris were blessed to enjoy a private service in the home with Pastors Jesse Middendorf, and Shawn Siegfreid. We wish to offer heartfelt thanks to Pastors Middendorf and Siegfreid, as well as the entire staff of Kindred Hospice for their loving care of our mom. Special thanks to Shandy, Kathy, Molly, and Barbara for their care and concern, for making this time of passing as graceful, informative, and peaceful as possible.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene or Kindred Hospice Lenexa, KS.
