Donna was born on January 21, 1938 in Castle Shannon, PA to Alexander and Mary (Zywan) Kobosky. She graduated from St. Francis Academy in May 1955. She later studied bookkeeping and business training in the 1990s. Donna was a devoted wife to Edward P Linton and a devoted mother to her four
children: Charles, Mary Jane, Patrick and Dawn.
Donna’s number one priority was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a devout Catholic and she sacrificed tremendously so that her children would go to Catholic school. Second, came her children and family. She never missed a birthday or holiday, sending cards and gifts, including her thirteen nieces and nephews and her brothers and sisters. She even baked a birthday cake every Christmas for Jesus.
Even before all her children left the nest, she started working different jobs. She loves to interact with all people. She enjoyed working at McDonald’s, JC Penney and United Super. She even had her own mobile BBQ smoker, as well as a patent for her BBQ sauce recipe! She also worked for BHA Group in Raytown, MO.
Donna's most dedicated and important job was her church, St. Bernadette's of Kansas City, MO. She volunteered by cleaning the church’s rectory. For years, she cleaned and prepared the Church for all the liturgical holidays. Her favorite times of the year were Christmas and Easter. She took great pride in making sure her church and her home were decorated.
The holidays were always her family’s favorite time of the year. Donna loved to cook. She prepared homemade povitica every year for her friends, family and church community. She made the best Thanksgiving dinners, making everything from scratch. Easter was all about the ham, polish sausage, sauerkraut, pierogies, and dyed eggs. Everyone was always welcome. There really was nothing like it, all done with total and unconditional love. She made everyone feel special.
She was so proud when her grandchildren and great grandchildren started arriving from God, and she was never more happy. Donna liked to party with her family and friends, earning her the nickname Jaegermom. She also loved sports, her favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers, with her number one player being hall of famer, Troy Polamalu. She wouldn’t talk to her family when KC played Pittsburg. She also loved her KC Royals and Pirates too.
Donna was also a very strong woman (a TRUE coal miner's daughter) surviving a double mastectomy in 2006, only to eventually succumb to Alzheimer’s, in which she fought valiantly for the past seven years.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Mary Kobosky; her two brothers and one sister-in-law, Carl and Francis Kobosky and Robert Kobosky; her two sisters and one brother-in law, Irene and Edward Muskovich and Margaret Cardamone; her ex-husband Edward Linton; and two nephews, Thomas and Michael Caramone.
She survived by her brother-in-law, Thomas Cardamone, and sister-in-law, Lucille Kobosky; her sons, Charles Linton and Patrick Linton (Jennifer); daughters, Mary Jane Linton and Dawn (Terry) Burkes; her eight grandchildren, Katharine Suisman (Tony), Jordan Linton, Kayla Dettlaff, Mackenzie Linton, Keegan, Christopher & Derek Staggs, and Makayla Linton; and her two great grandchildren, Hailey and Natalie Suisman.
