I miss him, I miss him everyday! May you Rest In Peace .

Donald and I were members of the Brothers of Mercy.

I was Don’s patient for over 10 years. He had an immeasurable impact on my life and my outlook and helped me navigate some incredibly difficult times. Over the years he saw me married and have 2 children. And he met them all in person and then saw them via FaceTime during the pandemic. He was an incredibly warm man. I’ll miss him dearly. 

I worked for Don almost 35 years ago when he was at Catholic Charities.  After he went into business for himself we remained friends, having lunch about once per month.  He was a very dear friend.  I’ve had health issues this last few months and with the pandemic we didn’t see each other.  How I will miss him.

Don was my mentor, friend, father figure, comrade in arms, co-worker, and supporter.  

He gave me my first professional job in 1986, along with many other new students from UMKC.   He believed in giving students a hand up.  Hundreds of graduates owe their career to him.  He provided supervision, guidance, and educational opportunities.  He was proud to be a part of their chosen careers and wished them the best as they left the agency to pursue new opportunities.  Many of those relationships continued until his death.  

Don was a risk-taker, a philanthropist, a love of the arts, and an enchanting storyteller.  His ability to create peace in the middle of the chaos surrounding him was a rare gift and one I shall try to emulate.

There are 1,000 or more stories I could tell about Don as our lives, careers, and businesses and families co-mingled.  And, each of them would be a tribute to my dedication to him.   Don was one of the most cherished gifts in my life and I am thankful God drew us together.  

I know he is watching over me at this moment shaking his head as I share his wonderful talents and pour out my heart with gratitude.  He will always be missed and fondly remembered.  

 

My most sincere condolence to the family of Dr. Donald A Rosenfield.  I feel so blessed that I was able to be a recipient of his gift of counsel. He was my counselor for the past year and has been extremely helpful. Thank you Dr. Don.  Rest in Heaven.   Michelle Edwards.
