Denny was born on March 4, 1933 to John & Joyce Donnelly in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the 4th of 14 children. He married Sue (Mary Brauner) in 1956, and they lived in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they raised 4 children. His children remember him for his sense of humor and his caring attitude.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, 4 children: Susan (Mike), Dennis (Sandy), Diane (deceased), Patti (Mike), 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory 8 siblings, Jim, Frances, Cleo, Nancy, Patty, Mary Jo, Brenda, and Tommy.
He was preceded in death by John and Joyce Donnelly, 3 sisters: Mary, Shirley, Kathryn and 2 brothers: John and Jerry.
Denny was a Vice President in the lumber business until he retired in 1997. He also served in the US Army from which he received an honorable discharge.
He was a hard worker and was always busy. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the lake and spending time on his farm. He was an avid Chiefs fan. He and Sue became season ticket holders when the team moved to Kansas City.
A visitation is scheduled for January 25, 2021, from 5pm-6:30pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. The family will hold a private service at a later date.
