Debra Jean Holmes, 63, passed away on February 14, 2023 at her son’s home. She was born on May 6, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri and was a lifelong resident. A legal secretary in her youth, after studying various careers she chose motherhood. She enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering at Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
Debra was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Holmes; and sister, Janet Finley. She is survived by her son, Shawn “Sugar Bear” Leslie and his girlfriend, Rachel; sister, Mona Talley; brothers, George and Steven Holmes; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 23 at Redemptorist Catholic Church, 3333 Broadway, Kansas City, MO.
