Darlene Shull, 82, of Prairie Village, Kansas died on January 5, 2022. Services will be held at Curé of Ars Church in Leawood, KS on Wednesday January 11 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a one-hour visitation immediately following the service.
Darlene was born on October 27, 1940, to Ralph & Pearl Trego in Oakley, KS. She went to high school at Oakley High and graduated in 1959. Darlene married Nevin Shull in 1962. They eventually moved to Wichita, KS where they started their family and had their son Lee Michael Shull, born on November 28, 1971. Darlene had an extensive career as a working mother which ultimately led her to a Human Resources role at Coastal Refinery. She was extremely active in various community programs and greatly enjoyed working in her yard. Darlene was a pet lover and most recently enjoyed time with her dog “Grizz”.
Darlene’s biggest passion in life was spending time with her three grandchildren, Luke (20), Logan (20) and Livi (16). She loved attending all of their sports and school functions and became very close to her grandchildren’s friends families. Darlene found joy through helping others and providing thoughtful gifts to her friends and family. She was an avid fan of Kansas State University where she provided countless tailgating experiences for her son’s friends.
Darlene is survived by her son, Lee Michael and her three grandchildren, Luke, Logan and Livi Shull.
