Daniel Robert Lewis, age 24, died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in an accident at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Danny was a large person, standing 6’7” with an even larger heart for his deep love of life. He was born in Sayville, New York on June 2, 1993 to Andrew and Mary Lewis, and had an older sister, Katie.
He was absolutely brilliant, which fueled his incredible sense of humor. You could always count on him for a quick line to make you laugh. Danny loved NFL football (specifically the Chiefs), learning about history, his yellow lab pup, Lucy, and his family. Most importantly, Danny will be remembered for his ability to make people feel loved, important and safe.
He is survived by his mom, Mary; dad, Andy; sister, Katie; dog, Lucy; Grandmother, Kay O’Connell; aunts Ann Grace, Jean Ciampo, Nancy O’Connell, Trish Webb, Patty Lewis, Barbara Moffo; uncles, Robert O’Connell, Mike Ciampo, Tom Webb, Joe Moffo, Tom Grace; and cousins Bobby, Chris, Kevin, Kerry, Kyle, Nicole, Megan, Drew, Adam, Megan, Ryan, Kim, Erin, Chris, Mike, Kyle, Shannon, Jenna, Laura, Madeline, Erin, Deke, Sarah and Carina, who will spend the rest of their lives loving and celebrating him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel at 12301 State Line Road in Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th Street in Overland Park, Kansas.
