Dale G. Lamb, 87, passed away on June 6, 2011 with family close by. Visitation will be held at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel on Thursday, June 9th from 6-8pm. Funeral service at the chapel on Friday at 10am with entombment to follow in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.
Dale was born January 13, 1924 in Aud, MO to J. Earl Lamb & Hada Mantle Lamb. He was the second of their 12 children. He married Aletha M. Suess on January 4, 1947. Dale served in the US Navy during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart. He worked at TWA Overhaul base and retired after 20 years of hard work. After retiring he and Aletha moved to Stockton Lake to their own Shady Acres. In life, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, gardening and fishing. Dale loved woodworking and could fix anything; he was “Mr. Fixit.” He was a very skilled letter writer and story teller.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, Donald Lamb, sisters, Earline Lamb & Sister Jane Marie Lamb and brothers, Paul, James Earl & Melvin Lamb. He is survived by his wife, Aletha, children, Shirley (David) Emmert & Gale (Cliff) Mullins; daughter-in-law, Jan Lamb; grandchildren, Annique Mullins, Melody (Paul) Brooks, Mirriam (Donald) Hannah, Samuel Dale Lamb & Katie Mullins; great-grandchildren, Jeffery Dale Mullins, Lily Dawn Brooks, Benjamin Ray Brooks & Jordan Lamb; sisters, Sister Mary Evelyn Lamb, Ester Brandt & Sister Jamesine Lamb and brothers, Walter Bill, Charles & Robert Lamb.
