She was born February 10, 1945 to Clyde and Lottie Kerney in Kansas City, MO. On July 3, 1965, she married Leroy Lorenz, the love of her life and her high school sweetheart. She is survived by her husband, Leroy; two children: Mike (Kelley) Lorenz of Gainesville, GA and Stacey (Todd) Pap of Kingsville, MO; her three loving grandchildren: Joshua (Sarah) Lorenz of Flowery Branch, GA, Melody (Jared) Brooks of Kansas City, MO, and Garrett Pap of Kingsville, MO; her great grandson, Stephen Lorenz of Flowery Branch, GA; her stepsister, Susan Rodriguez of Pittsburg, KS; stepbrother, Dennis Evans of Blue Springs, MO; sisters-in-law: Earlene Twenter, Doris Kempf and Rosie Lorenz; and her brother-in-law, Elmer (Pat) Lorenz.
Claudia was a good cook and loved to entertain. For many years she had Christmas dinner at her house for the entire Lorenz family. She also loved to have her friends over to play cards, where she always liked to win. She loved her children and grandkids and loved taking them to interesting places and staying home and play games with them. Claudia and Leroy loved to travel and had been on bus trips and cruises all over the US and Europe.
Claudia worked for Sears at Independence Center for 26 years before retiring in 2005. She held many jobs during those years, but her favorite was working on the dock and taking care of claims and returns. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church where she had many close friends and also served in the Ladies Auxiliary 6794 for a number of years. Claudia loved visiting with Edie Sladek and Barbara Ripple when they came by to visit her and sing songs.
We are so thankful for the care and services given to Claudia by her nurses and caregivers. We would like to thank Sarah Stevenson, Cheryl Hale, Billie Fink and Ashley Harvey.
