Christopher David Gilpin, 39, of St. Joseph, MO passed away on January 10, 2019 in St. Joseph. Chris was born on January 11, 1979 in Kansas City, MO. He was the son of Richard and Brenda (Nelson) Gilpin. Chris graduated from Center High School in Kansas City, MO. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Royals, Chiefs and the Patriots.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Morris and grandparents, Emerson and Georgia Nelson. He is survived by his step-father, Lowell Morris, his sister, Andrea Terry, brothers, Jeff and Brian Gilpin, fiancée, Kay Winder, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:30 pm at New Life Ministries, 7945 S. Benton, Kansas City, MO 64132. A dinner will follow the Celebration at the Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131 to help offset funeral expenses.
