Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:00am at First Baptist Church, 2500 Mallard Lane, Taylor, Texas. Burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery, 1101 East 4th Street, Taylor, Texas.
Born at home in the community of Blair near Timpson, Texas to Grant Jack Frederick and Mintie Laverne Grant Frederick on August 25, 1939, Christine is a 1957 graduate of Timpson High School. Christine moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1960 after completing business school. While working in insurance, she met Richard Carroll Barrett in April of 1961 and they married on August 19, 1961. They were married 52 years before his death in 2014.
Christine is survived by her three daughters, Susan Barrett Conditt (Chris), of Springfield, Missouri; Sharon Barrett Conditt of Taylor, Texas; Shelley Barrett Parrett (Kurt), of Prairie Village, Kansas. Christine is survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Matthew Grant Barrett (Kandace), of Waco, Texas and their sons Kaleb Wayne Barrett and James (Jamie) Michael Barrett and Kara Tennyson Parrett of Prairie Village, Kansas. Christine is also survived by her sister Kathleen Connell of Nacogdoches, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carroll Barrett, her sister Abigail Dempsey, Nacogdoches, Texas, her great granddaughter, Athena Grace Barrett, Waco, Texas, son- in-law James Conditt, Pflugerville Texas, and her parents Grant Jack Frederick and Mintie Laverne Grant Frederick of Blair, Texas.
Christine was a devout Christian and was secure in her faith. She frequently said, “I will not live one minute longer than is God’s plan for me.” She died quickly and without suffering and would want everyone to know the love of Christ and his salvation.
