Imogene was employed at Hallmark Cards and Stuart Hall for many years. Later she ran a picture framing business from her home. She kept a garden, and helped manage the family farm. She loved spending time with her family. She dedicated many years of her life caring for numerous ill family members.
She is survived by her husband, Berton Ray Brooks, married on October 2, 1960 at the Central Chapel Methodist Church in Barton County, MO.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Emmalee Brooks of Lee's Summit, MO, son-in-law Phillip Rowell, 6 grandchildren, Robby VanHorn, Tiffany Eli Brooks, Kyle Brooks, of Lee's Summit, MO, Aaron Christopher Brooks Rowell, A. J. Rowell, and Abby Rowell, of Mascoutah, Ill, and 3 great grandchildren, and a nephew, Michael Larry Boyd of Lamar, MO, brother-in-law Harold and Lana Brooks and life-time friends, Wilburta and Jim Arrowood of Napoleonville, LA, and Deanna and Jim Dunlap of Ozark, MO.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Jean Brooks Rowell, and her sister, Delores Marlene Boyd.
Visitation will be at 11 AM on April 12, 2019 with services following at 12 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities, 2502 Cherry Street, Kansas City, MO 64105.
