Carolee Burns, age 80, passed away at home on February, 23, 2022. She was born March 14, 1941, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Bertram Gordon Carmen and Alice Louise (Cowburn) Carmen. She married Daniel (Dwayne) Burns on April 20, 1978, in Miami, OK.
Carol loved spending holidays and quality time with her family, crafting, traveling, gardening, camping and DRINKING HER COCA-COLA! She worked for many years as a pediatric medical assistant for several practices in the Kansas City Area and was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is survived by her siblings Lana Cowley of Salt Lake City, UT; Connie Bringard of Farmington, UT; Gordon Carmen (Amy) of Salt Lake City, UT; and David Carmen (Jane) of Saline, MI; brother-in-law Jerry Moore of Independence, MO; sisters-in-law Kathy Yancey (Neil) of Independence, MO; and Maureen Manning of Princeton, IL; son Daniel Burns (Teresa) of Cameron, MO; daughters Kellie Hubler (Tracy) of Gore, OK; Lisa Thomas of Independence, MO; and Wendy Gray of Blue Springs, MO; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren (plus one more on the way); and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 38 years Daniel (Dwayne) Burns; son Richard Burns; son-in-law Charles Thomas; brothers-in-law Ted Cowley, Mike Bringard and Warren Manning; and sister-in-law Marilyn Moore.
A visitation to honor Carol will be held 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, with a funeral service to immediately follow, both at Newcomers Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Carol will be laid to rest at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens in Lee’s Summit, MO.
