Carl E, Corbin, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at home. A visitation will be held 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Carl was born on November 30, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri, the only son of Margaret and Carl E. Corbin, Sr. After graduating from Southwest High School, he entered the army in January of 1945 and spent his enlistment as part of the occupation in Europe. After graduating from the University of Missouri in 1949, he married Norma (Bunny) Welborn on February 24, 1950. Carl worked at Westinghouse as an accounting supervisor, with his father as an independent manufacturer’s representative, and for the Hobart Corporation as district manager before retiring in 1988. After retirement, Carl and Bunny enjoyed many trips to Great Britain, Switzerland, and Italy before Bunny’s passing in 2009.
Carl is survived by his son Gregory Corbin and wife Cynthia, daughter Cindy Davidson and husband Randy, and grandchildren Jacob Corbin, Daniel Davidson, and Tricia Freeman and husband Justin.
