Brian P. Muldoon, 52, of Kansas City, MO passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 6th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO with burial following in Queen of the Holy Rosary WEA Cemetery, Bucyrus, KS. Visitation will be held Friday, February 5th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Luke’s Foundation C/O ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) 4225 Baltimore Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64111.
Brian was born September 11, 1963 in Philadelphia, to Bernard Augustine and Anne Marie (Toner) Muldoon. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and Cincinnati, OH and attended and graduated from Roger Bacon Catholic High School in Cincinnati. He enjoyed all sports and played baseball growing up. They moved to Kansas City in December of 1982. He attended K-State and William Jewel College where he played baseball. His career in the trucking industry began working alongside his Dad and Brother-in-Law, Randy at Midland International Trucks in Omaha, NE. He continued a successful career as a used truck sales representative at Summit Truck Group of Kansas City. He has been a member of the Used Truck Association since 2007 where he has built strong relationships with many in the industry. In 2007, he was recognized as a member of Navistar’s Diamond Club and achieved Diamond Club status for the next five consecutive years, through 2012. In 2013, Brian achieved the Navistar Diamond Club – President Club status for the years 2012/2013.
Brian became a proud father on December 2, 1990 when his son, Brian Thomas Muldoon was born, and on May 24, 1993 when his “Sunshine Girl”, Molly Elizabeth Muldoon was born. Nothing meant more to him than his kids. It didn’t matter where Brian was, he made time to share in their lives, taking them on trips and doing anything to make sure they were happy. He met Carrie Reh Ruddy on December 13, 1996 and they were married on June 19, 1999 in Stanley, KS at his parent’s home. Brian was a member of Leawood Country Club and St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He had a passion for all sports, he bled “blue & gold” for his favorite, Notre Dame football team. Brian’s most favorite time of year was March Madness which coincided with St. Patrick’s Day. Brian was Irish, through and through. He was an avid golfer, he participated in the Golf Channel Amateur Tour for the past five years and also the Kansas City Golf Association. He enjoyed traveling, working on home improvements and was a gifted artist. Brian’s generosity and fun-loving spirit will be treasured forever in the hearts of his family and friends, of all the things in the world, nothing meant more to him than his family and faith. Family was his world, family always came first.
Brian was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Edwin Muldoon; one sister, Patricia Elizabeth Jaspers. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 16 years, Carrie Reh Muldoon; children, Brian Thomas Muldoon and Molly Elizabeth Muldoon; parents, Bernard Augustine and Anne Marie Muldoon; siblings, Anne Marie (Randy) Walker; brother-in-law, Michael Ross Jaspers, Kelly Ann (Paul) Groves, his twin Denise Maria (Bruce) Swickard and many, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
