Bobby Lou Brown

On August 1, 1927, Bobby Lou Snell came into the world as the daughter of Mary Ellen and Howard Snell. She was born in Kansas City Mo attended school at the Center School District. At Center High School she met the love of her life Harold Brown. Their love blossomed and took a quick turn when Harold enlisted in the Navy during World War II. The war ended and Harold came home to continue his relationship with Bobby. Their love grew even stronger and soon they were married on August 31, 1946. Not long after, they began to start an amazing family together. Bob, Joyce and Jane were considered the first round of the children. Bobby did an amazing job raising them while Harold ran the business. After quite a few year's God blessed them with the second round of children. Mariellen, Jim, and Theresa. Bobby and Harold made a decision to raise Jim and Theresa in Camdenton MO at Lake of the Ozarks. They bought a hardware store and built a home on the lake. They spent many great years together at the lake making friends, fishing, and growing their business. Bobby was an amazing cook and baker. When she baked she always doubled the recipe to give goodies to family and friends. She is most famous for her cinnamon rolls. Every holiday season, she would make dozens of cinnamon rolls to hand out to family and friends as part of their gift. Everyone looked forward to Bobby's homemade gift. With her abilities she found herself as a partner in a small bakery located next to the hardware store they owned. She maintained the bakery for several years and people from all around the lake, Kansas City, and St Louis became regular customers on the weekends. In 1987 Bobby and Harold sold their hardware store and moved back to Raymore MO to be closer to family and grandchildren. Bobby worked at Wal Mart in the sewing and crafts section. She was the go to when customers had tough questions. Bobby and Harold missed the lake and found themselves making a part time residence at Pomme De Terre Lake. They made many new friends and enjoyed fishing and traveling to small communities in the southern region in the state of Missouri.

No one loved their family more than Bobby and Harold. They beamed with pride whenever the entire family would have a gathering at their home in Raymore. It meant the world to them to have such a loving family. Harold passed May 16th 2006. Their marriage lasted 60 years. Bobby's life was turned upside down. With the love and strength of her family she continued on and watched the family continue to grow.

Bobby was kind and caring to all that knew her. She was known for her vast knowledge-from sports to wild plants and birds to movies, books and music. She was generous with her time serving in unconventional roles at times, from being the leader of her son's Boy Scout's troop to volunteering for the VFW. Bobby was also known as quite the seamstress and made clothing, blankets, and quilts in her spare time. Several generations benefitted from Bobby's gifted seamstress skills as she made countless Halloween costumes, Baptism gowns and even a wedding dress. This kept her days very busy. Everyone in the family is a proud owner of at least one quilt and 1afghan. They are treasured by all of us.

Bobby was moved to a memory care unit in Raymore and Harrisonville where she lived out her final days. On June 2nd 2021 Bobby passed and the age of 93! She will be missed and her memories will last forever. Her mind is now clear and she has been reunited with her family and friends that preceded her in death.
