It is with great sadness, yet a peaceful heart, that we announce the passing of Bobbie Holder, a beloved mother, great-grandmother, grandmother, sister, wife, friend, and devout Christian woman. She peacefully departed this life on April 24th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family, after a life rich with living, laughing, and loving without bounds. Born on August 27th, 1933, in Dawson, Texas to Edward and Gladys Talbot. Her adolescent years were spent on the farm riding her favorite horse Dixie, her bicycle, and going into town for church services. After ten years of being an only child, she became the big sister and lifelong best friend of Patricia Talbot (Fuller) of Waxahachie, Texas - her only sibling. Graduating from Ferris High School, she later went on to attend college in Fort Worth and took her first job as an executive assistant at a large oil firm in Dallas.
She met the love of her life, husband, Roy Holder of Ferris, Texas while commuting to and from work in Dallas in the late 1950’s. They would go on to have two boys, Robert Holder and Greg Holder, and moved to Kansas City in the early 1960’s where all have resided together in close proximity throughout the last five decades.
Bobbie lived a life filled with purpose and generosity. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, her warm smile and gentle spirit leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered. Throughout her nine decades, Bobbie embraced each day with unwavering strength and resilience. Her steadfast dedication to her family was unmatched, and she found joy in nurturing her loved ones, creating cherished memories with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephews.
Bobbie was a woman of many talents and passions. Whether keeping score at baseball games, singing in the church choir, baking her famous custard and pumpkin pies, or lending a listening ear to those in need, she approached every endeavor with unwavering determination and boundless love. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will endure through the countless lives she touched. In her honor, let us remember the laughter she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the love she showered upon us all. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Bobbie is survived by her sons Robert Holder (Wife Gail), and Greg Holder, grandchildren Kala Holder (Green) and Jake Holder, Sarah Holder and Lauren Holder, great-grandson Jett Green of Kansas City, Missouri sister Patricia Fuller, her Husband Jim Fuller and nephews Brad, Brent, and Brian Fuller of Waxahachie, Texas. All take solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her husband Roy Holder, parents Edward and Gladys Talbot, and other family and friends that preceded her.
A Memorial Visitation will start at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 18th, 2004 at Oakwood Baptist Church, 7600 Lee's Summit Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64139, and will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service of Bobbie's remarkable life at 11:00 am.
