Betty Dean Reed

Born to Arthur and Marie Cantrell in Webster County, Missouri on November 2, 1928. She is survived by a large and loving family. Three sons Cecil “Butch” (Penny), Gary (Debbie), and Michael (Pam); Grandchildren Amee Small (Keith), Meghann Lehn (Ryan), Marci Wink (Bryan) Natalie Tatum (Brett), Jennifer Ward (Mark), Jamie (Scott) Thomas, Brett (Tori) Reed, Laura (Todd) Kornis, Alison (Brett) Alcox, Aiden and Wyatt Reed; 2 sisters Wanda Jo Pruetting, Shirley Jean Ryan. Many Great Grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Betty was a strong, selfless, independent woman that worked as a waitress at Jess and Jim’s Steakhouse for over 50 years. There can be no better mother, grandmother, waitress, or friend. Betty will be especially remembered for her wit, and fiery spirit. She is loved by all who knew her.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Wilber E. Reed; Daughter-in-law Cynthia E. Reed and Debi Reed; Sisters, Pauline Sindy Henderson, Emma Jane Pursley, Mary Lou McBrayer, and Anne Mae Willhite; Brothers, Quention Cleo, Adolphus Kent, Edgar J., and Lloyd Delano.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 9am to 11am at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64133. A private burial ceremony will be held. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.floralhillsfuneralhome.com
