Betty L. Bartley 88 of Higginsville, MO went to be with the lord on Oct 9th 2020 at her home surrounded by her daughters. Betty was born Oct 5th 1932 in Kansas City, MO the 10th of 12 children to Charles W. Frazier and Mary Preston. Betty married Edward S. Askren in 1951 & had 3 children Debra Cooper, Carl Askren (AZ) & Starr Wallingford. They were blessed with 27 years of marriage before he passed in 1978.
Betty was a machinist for Darlene envelope factory and retired in 1980. She married Marion T. Young in 1982 & joined Adella Chapter #526 of the Order of Eastern Star in 1983. They enjoyed a decade together traveling, boating and entertaining family, friends & everyone from OES. Marion passed away Dec 1992.
Betty met Monroe Bartley thru mutual OES friends and they married Jan 1996. Betty moved to the farm and continued to be active in OES joining Mokane Chapter #352. They bought a 5th wheel & traveled most of the US. Betty loved farm life and the wonderful family she made while living there. They had 20 years together before Monroe passed away Jan 2016. Betty moved to Higginsville with her daughters that year.
Betty came to know God in 1956. She was a strong faithful Christian wife, mother and sister to the Order of Eastern Star. Her faith never withered even in the toughest of times and she was a true faithful servant of God.
Betty was very proud of her family and had many grandchildren Dawn Myes (Rob), Carl Askren Jr (Liz), Azure Thomas (Bill), Daniel Wallingford (Ericka), Zane Perkins, Elizabeth Nagel (Conrad), Angela Reeder (Joe), Tucker Bartley (Elise), Grady Bartley (Mackenzie), Eli Bartley (Brittany) and Hannah Marler (Sam). Great grandchildren Kristian Perkins (Chloe), Kayleen Gonzales, Robbie, Mathew, Nicholas, Jonathan & Samuel Myers, Hayden, Elijah, Alesandra, Adam and Sofia Askren, Dylan, Jordan & Harlyn Wallingford, Ruth Ann Reeder, Gwyneth, Annabelle, William, Marshall, Grayson, and Walker Bartley. And one great-great grandchild Madilyn Grace Perkins. Betty leaves behind to many family, extended family and friends to list. She was also a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church.
Betty L. Bartley Memorial Service will be October 23, 2020 at 1PM at Faith Baptist Church in Higginsville, MO.
Family request that donations be made to the Faith Baptist Church Benevolence Fund.
